X-Box Addict!

Jake just LOVES playing Halo on the X-Box these days. It's cute the way he's always asking Jonathan for tips/ advice on how to beat the levels. At last they have something in common... a love for video games! Granted Jonathan is not always super helpful where this is concerned, but he does share his "expert" advice from time to time!

Bunny

Here Jake is with Billy Bob, his bunny. He now lives in the garage with Alphonso and Oreo, which is a good thing- on account of his smell. Jayden still calls him Bob the Builda... and it makes me laugh every time!

Elephant Jammies and "Art"...

Jayden LOVES these elephant jammies (hard to see the elephant on them in the pix- but it's bright pink on the front). We have a little joke about them, so I think she extra likes them simply because I tease that I DON'T like them. It is just because they are more complicated to get in and out of when she needs to go potty that I have anything against them. Tonight she asked where her elephant jammies were, ran to find them again in the laundry room and came in with them behind her back. She then whipped them out in front of me and yelled "SURPRISE!!!" and then laughed hysterically (as if I didn't see this coming...).

Also, note the hideous playdough/ feather creation she made. Melissa has always let the kids make these at her daycare- and each one that "graces" our house seems a tad bit uglier than the last! But they just make me smile... I think because they are just SO stinkin' ugly... and yet kinda cute because my kids are so proud of them! This particular one really "takes the cake" in terms of total feathers used- so I decided it was picture worthy!! In fact, before I threw it away (shh!!!) I actually picked out all 20 or so of the feathers to return to Melissa's for the next little creation!!!

McDs

Here we are at McDs on Friday night. I don't think we've been there since Jayden's Birthday party in January... which is probably a good thing! This is the first time I've braided Jayden's hair, so it's a bit lop-sided. Oh well... Jonathan spent the night at his friend's house, so wasn't with us.

Read Across America Day- Things 1 and 2!

Jake and I dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2 at school today for the kick-off to Read Across America week. Dr. Seuss would have been 105 today were he still alive (a bit of trivia for you Paula!!) Then when we got home, I dressed Jayden up too and took some pix. Another beautiful day... I'm loving it!

Jayden's February Artwork...

Here are the monthly pix of Jayden by all her art projects. Kate- the red shawl (sp.?) was Maddie's- still had the tags on it though, so she must have never worn it?)

My "Sweet" Valentine Card???

OK, so after school on the day of Jake's school Valentine party, he busily and secretively worked for quite awhile on a "surprise" for me. I wasn't allowed to come close to him or even look in his direction- he was all business.

I couldn't help but get excited, thinking he was making me a sweet "world's best mom" Valentine card, or something like that. But then we had to leave to pick Jayden up from daycare, so he didn't finish it. Bummer. Well then the kids went to Oregon with their dad for the long weekend, and my poor sweet card was forgotten about...

Fast forward to Tuesday night... We get home from the Science Fair and Dairy Queen- Jake still on cloud 9 from his bug win- and he comes to me sweetly with the card I'd forgotten all about (that he must have finished at some point) and a little Hershey Kiss. I was so touched- so moved... my sweet little boy had taken the time to make me a handmade Valentine card- late or not- I was ready to read about how much he loved me and how great a mom I am... My eyes welled up with tears- (just kiddin- trying to add to the drama here...) And then I opened the card!

If you know Jake, you know he's nothing if not a goof ball. He loves to tease and be funny. I got quite a laugh out of this- Definitely a keeper. He drew SpongeBob on there because he knows I hate SpongeBob and we always joke about that.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
