Rainy day out, so headed to Jungle Playland. Jonathan is too old for it, so didn't really want to go, but was a good sport and tagged along. He went down the huge black slide with Jayden. She can be a dare devil at times. He ended up playing the whole time after all. Jayden loved the kiddie area and went up and down the slides a million times. She was mad that there were other kids in the ball pit (the "marbles" as she calls it) and wanted them to leave immediately. Ugh! The boys rented lazer guns to play, but only used them for 10 minutes before they deflated the lazer area. Maybe next time...
The week I don't have classes has been rainy! I had planned to spend the last week of summer (before teaching) to do outdoor stuff with the kids- swimming, hiking, etc... Oh well- we decided to go to Lake Goodwin even though it was quite windy out. For a long time we were the only ones there. The boys jumped right in the water off the dock and had a ball! They swore it wasn't too cold! They actually swam for about 2 hours. My AMAZING, WONDERFUL friend Lisa came with her kids and she and I talked while they entertained themselves. Jayden went in the water a little bit, but mostly played on the playground.
Jake had a soccer tournament last weekend in Lake Stevens. It was super hot and they only had 4 players, so the boys were dying out there. I think they still had a fun time. I dumped water over Jayden's head, and she laughed hysterically and then ran around screaming and smiling. Jonathan had fun showing me his "rainbow" trick that he can do with the ball. I'll see if I can get the video to work. When we were there, a bird landed on our assistant coaches head and just sat there. Jake wanted to keep it, of course. BUT... I said no. I'm scared of birds. Right now I'm at school trying to get my classroom set up. Not getting too far.
