Science Center Camp-In with Jake

We had tons of fun together! The Mars exhibit and IMAX were AWESOME!! Sleeping on the floor in the old weather station was NOT awesome... but at least we lost an hour of misery on account of daylight savings time! After the camp-in was officially over on Sunday, we put our gear in the car, went to Starbucks, and then reentered and continued to enjoy the displays. We even got to see a corn snake show, which was right up Jake's alley! We then went to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. We got a volcano dessert. We'd always wanted to try one. And for $15, I was determined to enjoy every bite. Never mind that neither of us could budge for about an hour afterwards. Not a bite of ice cream went wasted!! Jake was delightful, as usual. Midway through he gave me a big squeeze and said "Oh THANK YOU for bringing me here mom. This is SOOOO fun!" Awww... moms just love that kind of stuff! I love his appreciative nature!

Washington Park

Wow have we ever had a mild winter!!! The weather has been amazing, for Washington standards! Last Saturday it was nearly 60 degrees and bright and sunny. Jake, Jayden and I had a picnic at the park by the beach. Perfect for us because Jake could flip rocks and find critters and Jayden could play on the playground. She loved hanging on the spinner thing and twisting around and around. Despite her tiny size, she is quite strong and hung on tight! The playground is unique so fun to explore!

Kinder Registration

How did she get so big!!! Jayden registered for kindergarten last week and she is soooo excited!!! She thinks she starts tomorrow! I heard there were WAY more boys than girls registering (like 18 boys to 2 girls!) Good thing she's so used to boys! It will be fun to have her with me next year some days! But I did tell her to stop growing up so fast!!!

Build A Bear and Children's Museum

More fun with my favorite girl when her daycare was closed! She used up her Build a Bear gift card from Santa with what else? but a new puppy! I tried to sway her toward the pastel rabbit for Easter, but she wasn't havin' it!

Jump Planet

Jayden's daycare was closed for several days when the high school basketball team went to state. So, we had a couple fun days together. One day we went to a place called "Jump Planet" that I had heard about on Facebook. She had a blast jumping around. I want to go back with the other kids (they were at school).

Fun at the Pool

This is the pool we joined for 2 months when we had Jake's b-day party. We try to use it as much as possible! Jayden and I like the hot tub and the boys like to tackle/ torture each other in the pool. There is also a weight room and pool and ping pong tables- which we actually went in on this particular visit (the weight room that is!)!

Olympics

Jonathan went to the Olympics in Vancouver with the Brown family. He said it was really crowded but fun! They went and walked around the village for 12 hours, so got the Olympic feel without attending any events.

Glass Quest

Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet

This year it was a western theme and the decorations were incredible! My den has big shoes to fill next year... when we are in charge of it on our own!

Puppy Day!

Jayden created "Puppy Day" on her own. She was so cute planning for it. The plans changed by the minute, but included burying herself in her little stuffed puppies and playing The Littlest Pet Shop game. Melissa joked that she was going to feed her dog food for lunch, and she thought that was really funny! She got so much attention from Puppy Day that she then wanted a Kitty Day and a Piggy Day (as in toes) and a Hand Day, and on and on... And there actually WAS a Kitty Day (pix to come) before she kind of forgot about it! Funny Girl!

Seattle Aquarium and the Waterfront

Jake, Jayden and I went downtown for a day of fun over President's Day weekend. Jonathan opted to stay home and play his guitar all day. We went to the aquarium (which I hadn't been to since Jake had just turned 4 and Jayden was a newborn with my friend Lisa!), walked along the waterfront and onto Pier ? with the merry go round and game area. We then walked up (actually we took an elevator) to Pike's Place Market to see the flying fish (only saw one cuz noone was buying). By then we were starving and planned to go to The Spaghetti Warehouse downtown to eat. However, they have funky lunch hours on weekdays and they were closed...as was the one in Lynnwood. We ended up at Red Robin in Smokey Point, which Jake actually prefers. By the time we sat down, we were ready to eat the napkins we were so hungry!!! Fun day! Can't say I am too impressed with that aquarium, but being down in the thick of the touristy area was fun... and something I hadn't done in a long time! I was nervous about the parking, but it worked out just fine...even parallel parking!
