Jonathan's Soccer Shirt

This is for you Paula!- He looks pretty sharp, huh?!!

Rainforest Cafe

We're never close to it, so when we passed it on our way home, we stopped for dinner. The highlight were the Icee drink cups. Yum!

Portland Zoo

We stopped at the Portland Zoo on our way back to break up the long drive. We didn't see many animals (all sleeping, I guess!), but still had fun.

Mo's Clam Chowder and Seal Docks

Our favorite restaurant on the Oregon Coast is "Mo's". It has the best clam chowder, which is Jonathan's favorite food (with steak being a close second!) After we eat (if we go to the Newport Mo's), we go to the seal docks nearby and watch the seals lay there and fight with each other. It's almost more entertaining than the aquarium- and free, too! When a new seal jumps on the dock, the others awaken from what appears to be a deep sleep and bark and bark and push and shove. It's soooo funny to see!

Whale Watching Boat Trip

Jonathan and I went out on a boat whale watching. He LOVED it, and it is always fun getting to spend time with just him. We saw several whales- one w/i 10 feet of the boat. We got the perfect spot, too, as most of the whales were spouting on our side. We loved the waves, and would have preferred if it were even choppier (calmest I've ever seen the ocean). He was ready to go do it again as soon as we got off!

Pacific City, Oregon

After going to the cheese factory, we headed to Pacific City, Oregon, which wasn't too far away. There was an enormous sand dune there which was soooo fun to run down (but NOT to climb up- I nearly died!) The view on the top was spectacular! Jayden made it all the way up. The boys did it several times. They also "swam" in the Pacific for a few minutes. It was so cold that they just ran in and out. There were many surfers there. Fun!

Tillamook Cheese Factory

We drove up to Tillamook to see the cheese factory. The kids like seeing the cheese cut and packaged. They got to sample different cheeses, and we each got an ice cream afterward (Tillamook brand, of course!)
