Night Owls!

So here's a cute story... at least I think so!!! As usual, when I pick Jayden up from daycare, she has a handful of art projects/ pictures to bring home. On this particular day, she proudly showed me the one posted here and announced, "These are 2 owls." I said, "Oh- I see. Very nice honey." And then she said, "These are you and me." "Oh," I say- thinking "well THAT was random...first they were owls, and then they were 2 people- interesting..." Then she said something that gave both Melissa and I a good laugh! "Cuz you and me are NIGHT OWLS mama!" I laughed so hard and will now keep this pix of me and my fellow little night owl forever! She definitely is her mama's girl- and definitely has been listening when I've called her my little night owl!

Jake's End of Baseball Season Celebration

Jake had his last game on Wed. It was a playoff game vs. the Rangers and his team lost (not surprising- they weren't the best!) He is SOOOOO happy to be done, so now he can "just relax"- ugh. The "party" was near the playground where his team played- very close to the pond of frogs and tadpoles, so I turned my back for a minute and he was (not surprisingly) in the pond- and filthy. Between the mud and the popsicle drippings and the cupcake smeared all over his face, he was a sight to be seen!

Jayden's April Art- a little late...

Games

We like Memory- actually Jayden calls it "Membory"- and she's quite good at it! Lately all 4 of us will sit and play a game or two at night before bed. This night Jayden, Jonathan, and I played "Guess Who" instead. Jonathan got a kick out of helping Jayden think of/ pick a question. He'd whisper the question she was to ask me, but then she'd answer his question- or ask me his question in a whisper. She didn't quite get it, so it was funny.

The Mini Golf Course on the Deck and Jayden's Sun Dress

Here's the creation. It is actually kind of fun! But the golf balls roll off the deck usually. Jake is so creative. He had a bucket full of balls at the beginning of the course.

Summer Weather at Last!

The weather is finally gorgeous- even "hot" for around here- at 85 degrees. Jayden likes me to go on the trampoline with her, but I don't get out there as much as I should. Jonathan was mowing (he owes me 14 1/2 mows to pay for his new cell phone) so we went out to play. Jake was building a bowling alley on the deck. He's always up to something that makes a big mess!

Mohawk Boy- UGH!

OK, here you go- don't cringe- believe me, I've done enough of it for the both of us. I mean, what kind of mother let's her sweet child get a mohawk anyway? Well, that's what I always thought- and still kind of do- but hey, it was Crazy Hair Day at school by golly! Jake has been dying for one for a year now, and of course I always say no. This school year- way back in Sept. or Oct. I told him that he could get one for Crazy Hair Day in May. And guess what??? He actually remembered, doggone it! He is so proud of his new "do". We added Elmer's Glue and red hair gel to get it to stay up. Jonathan tells him he looks AWFUL, like a punk- and he's very embarassed about him (seriously). We went to Lani's (our haircutter) after school on Thurs. and Jake was all smiles in the "barber" chair. He even had her shave more hair off when (we thought) she was done- because he was very specific about what he wanted and felt the stripe across the middle should be thinner than she had it. Ugh... Good thing hair grows quickly!
