Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet

This year it was a western theme and the decorations were incredible! My den has big shoes to fill next year... when we are in charge of it on our own!

Puppy Day!

Jayden created "Puppy Day" on her own. She was so cute planning for it. The plans changed by the minute, but included burying herself in her little stuffed puppies and playing The Littlest Pet Shop game. Melissa joked that she was going to feed her dog food for lunch, and she thought that was really funny! She got so much attention from Puppy Day that she then wanted a Kitty Day and a Piggy Day (as in toes) and a Hand Day, and on and on... And there actually WAS a Kitty Day (pix to come) before she kind of forgot about it! Funny Girl!

Seattle Aquarium and the Waterfront

Jake, Jayden and I went downtown for a day of fun over President's Day weekend. Jonathan opted to stay home and play his guitar all day. We went to the aquarium (which I hadn't been to since Jake had just turned 4 and Jayden was a newborn with my friend Lisa!), walked along the waterfront and onto Pier ? with the merry go round and game area. We then walked up (actually we took an elevator) to Pike's Place Market to see the flying fish (only saw one cuz noone was buying). By then we were starving and planned to go to The Spaghetti Warehouse downtown to eat. However, they have funky lunch hours on weekdays and they were closed...as was the one in Lynnwood. We ended up at Red Robin in Smokey Point, which Jake actually prefers. By the time we sat down, we were ready to eat the napkins we were so hungry!!! Fun day! Can't say I am too impressed with that aquarium, but being down in the thick of the touristy area was fun... and something I hadn't done in a long time! I was nervous about the parking, but it worked out just fine...even parallel parking!

Valentine's Day

We celebrated on February 10th (Happy Birthday Kate!) because the kids weren't going to be with me on 2/14. We had a heart pizza from Papa Murphy's, a few candies and little gifts, and then Jake and Jayden worked on their Valentine cards for school/ daycare... while Jonathan provided the musical entertainment. I sure love my kids!!! Oh and I almost left out the BEST part... my "foot mososh" coupon from Jake... which I used immediately so it wouldn't expire!! (or should I say "ikspir"!!!)

Jayden's Basketball Season at the YMCA

Jake Turns 9... Our Family Celebration

Jake's birthday was on a Friday this year. We had "Afternoon of Art" at school (an annual event) and I requested to have Jake in my classsroom so I could spend as much time on his birthday with him as possible. We made clay sculptures- which to this day are scattered all over my classroom! After school we headed to Red Robin for dinner (his choice) and to do a little shopping (Target and Walmart for a small cake). Also, Jonathan decided out of the blue to get his haircut so I rushed him to Great Clips before he changed his mind. He didn't want it cut as short as I wanted, but you have to choose your battles ya know!!! Then we continued the celebration at home with presents and a SpongeBob cake. His favorite gifts were probably Legos and a popcorn making machine. Happy Birthday Jakey!!!

Jake's 9th Birthday Party

Jake turned 9 years old on February 5th. Hard to believe! He had his party at the Country Club pool. The boys were pretty wild, but luckily they could be loud and rowdy in the pool without bothering anyone! After swimming for and hour and a half, we headed up to the loft area for cake and presents. His favorite gift was an airsoft gun from Tyson. Jonathan brought his friend Luke, and Jayden enjoyed swimming too! We joined the club for a trial 2-month membership, so we'll be doing lots of swimming in the months to come!
