Dying Eggs

We celebrated Easter a week early because the kids will be with Jon next weekend. Jonathan didn't want to dye eggs, as there was far too much X-Box 360 Live to be played! Jake and Jayden each did 12 eggs- and boy were they pretty! Then Jonathan ate a bunch of them. I guess that would be his contribution to the Easter festivities!

It's Spring at last!

Our first stretch of gorgeous weather came at last! Here's Jayden out on the deck enjoying the sunshine!

Opening Day of Little League Baseball!

Both boys are playing this year, and let me tell ya, I have decided that I need to just quit my job to drive them around to all their practices/ games!! It's crazy- but well worth it! Jayden will also be playing at the YMCA starting in May. That should be super cute! We've got all per pink gear set to go! The first day for Little League around here was Saturday, 4/4. The weather was GORGEOUS! 70 degrees- which is downright "balmy" in the Seattle area! Jonathan's game was at 10 am in Lake Stevens. They lost big time, but it was still fun to watch. I like that I don't know many parents for once, so I can just focus on watching Jonathan. I did sit by Andrew's mom and got to know her, though. She's really nice- and it's refreshing to meet some less intense people!!! After Jonathan's game, we went to Costco for lunch and shopping before heading to Jake's jamboree game at 3. We were there early, but then realized Jake didn't have his mitt, so headed home and wound up late. Oh well. Poor Jake is afraid of the ball (got hit at a practice and hasn't recovered). He swung a few seconds after the ball went by- oh dear. Jonathan is on the Angels and Jake is on the Giants.

"Imagine"- Children's Museum with Jayden

It was a gorgeous day outside, so the children's museum wasn't as busy as usual (for a weekend day). Jake was at a birthday party and Jonathan was at Luke's, so "just the gulls" as Jayden says happily, took advantage of the opportunity to have a little "preschoolish" fun! She loved it, too! She really enjoys the puzzle area, and since she's the only one who thinks they are so cool, she always gets the whole table to herself! She also really likes the restaurant and spent about a half an hour making/ serving me food- including a super duper decker ice cream cone that was so big it just kept falling over! And then she'd laugh and laugh... She really liked the produce grocery section, too. Putting the fruit and veggies on the scale was a thrill for her! We went up on the roof where there is a huge play area. She was unsure about it at first because she thought that meant we were leaving, but after I convinced her that it was part of the museum, she loved it! It was so sunny and warm out- it felt like heaven up there! 4 is such a fun age. She has gotten less stubborn and loves to be with me- in fact she tells me several times a day "I love you mama." So sweet! I love you too Jayden- my sweet "gull"!

Amanda's Bridal Shower

My good friend Amanda (and Jake's teacher) got married last Friday. We had a shower for her on the Thursday before the wedding. The whole staff made her a money tree that turned out really cute. Jayden was there because I wanted to be able to stay at the shower until after 4:30 (when her daycare closes). I picked her up during my planning time. By Thursday she was an old pro at being a "student" anyway! And the baby napkin she's holding was a joke. Amanda borrowed Jayden's tiara for the day- and I just happen to have some tulle in the closet (teacher's have everything ya know!!!)- making a very cute little veil for her to wear for the day at school.

Jayden's School Days!!!

Jayden's daycare is rarely closed, but Melissa got the flu and was out for 3 days. Yikes! That really goofs up my work schedule. Jon watched her on Monday and then I took her to work with me on Tuesday and Wednesday. She did great. Most of the time I forgot she was even there, as she'd just wander off and play quietly for big chunks of time. There was a little showing off the first day in the morning, but then she got tired of it and was perfect! I was glad when Melissa reopened on Thursday, though! I'm sure I'm probably not supposed to bring her to school like this, but I'd already missed so much school this year that I hated to be gone again. And since she was doing so well... I just went for it.

Jonathan- Airsoft Gun and Linkin Park

These days he is obsessed with air soft guns- and finally received his long-awaited order of birthday goodies from airsplot.com. He had waited for weeks because the gun he wanted was out of stock, so he finally gave up on that gun and ordered a different one (sniper). He was online every night checking to see when it would arrive. He even emailed the company saying "I really need my gun. When is it coming?" (under my name of course- ugh) It got really annoying after awhile, so I was grateful when it finally came, too! It was scheduled to come on April 1 (April Fools Day), so he could hardly sleep the night before. When he got up, I told him that I checked the email again and the order was postponed a day. He started tearing up/ getting really upset- and then I said "APRIL FOOLS!!!" It was fantastic! I REALLY fooled him! And it was so cute to see him in all his camo/ airsoft glory when I got home from school. He was THRILLED! He is having an airsoft party in late April, so now he's ALL set!

Oh yes... and the "best" part of all, was the VALUABLE lesson he learned a little too late... that it is NOT wise to shoot airsoft guns in the house. The drywall doesn't like it. He now has a little "swiss cheese" section of the wall in his room. ay yi yi! And I thought it was a "given" that you shouldn't shoot inside the house.
