Our annual trip to the Lights of Christmas came AFTER Christmas this year due to all the snow. In fact, we went on the last possible night. We all got in for only $5, as they had given teachers free passes - and I also asked around for extras that people may not be using. Such a deal! There are over a million lights (I think), and it is always pretty. Jayden rode a pony and we went on a tractor covered wagon ride (no horses this year due to the ice). We did the train ride, Jayden made a toy (ornament) at the toy shop (you know the kind you paint as it spins around and it looks stunning- until it stops moving..), and we went in the petting zoo area. And then the "best" part (and truth be told the only reason Jonathan wanted to come) was the hot chocolate and cider!!! We actually got that first and sipped it as we walked around. It wasn't very crowded (compared to some years), so that made it nicer. My mom (who is from NC and not accustomed to the cold) first said she'd wait in the car when she found out it was outdoors. Of course I wouldn't allow this- and she ended up really glad she came! Jayden saw Carson there too with his family- not to mention Frosty the Snowman... One of the boys took this picture of the tree- and it turned out rather cool! Jake brought his new video camera he got for Christmas, and so (lucky for us) we now have an entire video of blurry lights to enjoy for years to come!!!
